Danny Mølgaard

Meet Danny, a true adventurer and nature enthusiast, is an integral part of our team at Disko Adventures. Born in Ilulissat and raised in Qeqertarsuaq, a small town in Disko Bay with a unique backcountry.
Having spent countless hours exploring the backcountry with his family and friends since his early childhood, Danny’s love for our pristine sorroundings runs deep. From alpine skiing to dog sledding, running to fishing, and hunting, he has embraced every opportunity to immerse himself in the breathtaking nature of Greenland. His passion for the beauty of Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island, and the entire region, is truly unmatched.
Driven by his insatiable desire to share his knowledge and experiences with others, Danny pursued a career as an Arctic Adventure Guide. When Danny is out in the field with our guests, he feels completely in his element, seamlessly blending work and passion into an unforgettable adventure.
And that is also why he started and finished as an Arctic Adventure Guide. He wants to be out there all the time! When he is out with guests, he doesn’t feel working, because it is just his lifestyle!
Together with Naja, Danny is accompanied by a pack of Greenlandic Sled dogs, who are as eager to explore the backcountry as he is. These remarkable companions are essential part of our team, adding an extra touch to our adventures. They love embarking on thrilling journeys alongside our guests and us bringing unmatched level of excitement and companionship to each expedition.

Naja Bjerregaard
Co-founder – Guide – Musher
Meet Naja. She was born in Qeqertarsuaq and raised in Nuuk. Despite growing up in Nuuk, her heart has always belonged to Qeqertarsuaq, where she has spent countless hours immersed in nature alongside her family. Their adventures included camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, and cooking in traditional Greenlandic ways. Naja has personally experienced life in a Greenlandic city and understands the challenges of transitioning from an urban environment to a more remote location.
Naja has always held a profound fascination for nature and her cultural heritage, and she is dedicated to preserving the Greenlandic culture. This passion led her and Danny to make the decision to raise a pack of Greenlandic sled dogs. Growing up with a dog in Nuuk, Naja is well-acquainted with working with dogs both indoors and outdoors, incorporating them into their lifestyle.
In 2022, Naja successfully completed her training as an Arctic Adventure Guide, which took place in Kangerlussuaq and Qaqortoq. This comprehensive training equipped her with the necessary skills and knowledge to guide and engage with adventure tourists in the Arctic region.
Naja’s unique background, connection to nature, and commitment to her culture make her an ideal guide for adventure tourists seeking authentic and memorable experiences in Greenland.
Steve Broberg
Co-founder – Musher
Meet Steve.
Steve was born and raised in Qeqertarsuaq. Since childhood, he has always been close to nature. He knows Qeqertarsuaq and its secrets inside out.
He has spent many hours in nature, both day and night, from walks to overnight stays. When he’s in nature, he’s rarely alone. Often, he’s either with his family or with dogs.
Throughout Steve’s upbringing, he has always been among dogs, from the family’s dogs to his own. For several years, Steve has been mushing sled dogs and has had his own team of dogs for almost 10 years now. When you have as many dogs as he does, you need to provide food for them. Therefore, Steve has also spent a lot of time sailing. It could be for hunting, fishing, or just sailing from point A to B in general. This also includes sailing to other towns.
Kristine Brandt
Guide
Meet Kristine. Kristine is from Qeqertarsuaq, where she has grown up surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Disko Bay. From an early age, she has always been closely connected to nature, spending countless hours sailing, riding snowmobiles, hunting, and simply being outdoors.
For Kristine, nature is never the same twice. Even in familiar places, there is always something new to discover and experience. Combined with a strong connection to her family and home, this creates a deep appreciation for both the environment and the community.
Driven by a passion for sharing these experiences, Kristine completed the Arctic Adventure Guide education and is currently continuing her studies in Service Management and Tourism.
Known for her warm smile and positive energy, Kristine truly enjoys meeting people from around the world. Working with tourists is more than just a job—it is an opportunity to learn, grow, and become a better person while helping others discover something new.
Kristine is dedicated to giving guests authentic and memorable experiences, sharing not only the beauty of Greenland’s nature but also its rich culture and way of life.
Ilasiaq B Hansen
Guide & Photographer
Ilasiaq Benjamin “Benji” Hansen has lived in Qeqertarsuaq for the past nine years, moving to Disko Bay to be closer to family and establish deep roots in the community.
Before making Qeqertarsuaq home, his early childhood years were spent experiencing the distinct landscapes of South Greenland and Sisimiut, giving him a broad and authentic appreciation for the country’s diverse regions.
As a guide with Disko Adventures, Ilasiaq channels a lifelong love for the outdoors into every tour. Whether carving through fresh powder on a snowboard, exploring the winter backcountry on a snowmobile, or navigating the dramatic basalt formations of Kuannit, he is happiest when immersed in the elements.
For Ilasiaq, nature is best captured through a lens. As an experienced photographer, he has a sharp eye for the subtle details, shifting light, and vast scale of the Arctic. He truly enjoys helping guests see the wilderness from a fresh perspective and capturing memories that last a lifetime.
Driven by deep local knowledge and a genuine passion for storytelling, Ilasiaq loves leading city walks, spotting wildlife, and sharing insights into daily life in Greenland. He is dedicated to providing safe, informative, and unforgettable excursions, welcoming travelers from all over the world with the warmth and authentic hospitality that defines our team.
Hans-Kristian Broberg
Guide
Hans-Kristian Broberg is 30 years old and grew up here in Qeqertarsuaq, surrounded by the wild landscapes, mountains, sea, and changing Arctic seasons that make Disko Island so special.
With a deep love for nature and adventure, Hans-Kristian feels most at home outdoors. He enjoys long hikes through the backcountry, snowmobiling across the winter landscape, photographing nature, and hunting reindeer. His passion for exploring the island gives him a strong connection to the places he guides guests through.
As part of Disko Adventures, Hans-Kristian brings local knowledge, calm confidence, and a true love for the Greenlandic outdoors. For adventurous travellers, he offers more than just a guided trip — he shares the feeling of growing up in this remarkable place and invites guests to experience Disko Island through local eyes.
Qeqertarsuaq, Disko Island
About Qeqertarsuaq
Welcome to Qeqertarsuaq, a town located on the majestic Disko Island, Greenland’s largest island. Founded as the whaling station Godhavn in 1773. Qeqertarsuaq quickly became known as the “capital” of North Greenland during the colonial era and the center of whaling due to the abundance of whales in the area.
Today, about 800 people live in Qeqertarsuaq, with an additional 4 residents in the nearby settlement of Kangerluk. The town is surrounded by the unique landscape of Disko Island, characterized by its volcanic past, which has created high basalt cliffs, hot springs, and lush valleys. The island is geologically young, formed by magma eruptions 50-60 million years ago, giving it a unique geology compared to the rest of Greenland.
Disko Island also has its own ice cap with impressive glaciers located in the high, inaccessible interior. With 267 vascular plants and a rich plant and animal life, the island is a biological hotspot. The area contains 70% of West Greenland’s plants and more than half of all Greenland’s plants. The island’s location between high Arctic and low Arctic climates gives it a unique biodiversity, where hot springs on the southern coast create an ideal habitat for species with southern distribution.
The sea around Disko Island is rich in wildlife, from large whales such as fin whales and Bowhead whales to small invertebrates found abundantly in plankton and cold deep-sea sediments.
